3dMD provides state-of-the-art 3D surface imaging systems and 3D software to assist doctors with their decision process by simple assessment and evaluation of the patient’s external surface complementing and enhancing CT/CBCT patient imaging initiatives.
3dMD Imaging Systems
3dMD imaging systems are the most widely used ultra-fast, high-precision (≤0.2mm) 3D surface imaging devices in practices, hospitals, and teaching institutions worldwide with an outstanding reputation for accuracy, speed (1.5 milliseconds), and dependability. A natural companion to CBCT, 3dMD registers 1:1 to provide correction to the CBCT surface artifacts caused by patient movement during the duration of the scan; compensate for soft tissue compression from CBCT stabilization aids (i.e. chin cup); eliminate soft tissue draping from supine devices; supplement missing anatomical data (i.e. nose); and capture natural head position.
3dMD’s imaging systems are simple to use by every member of the clinical support team and can be easily integrated into any standard patient documentation protocol. With ~1.5 millisecond capture speed, 3dMD’s systems are effectively instantaneous and especially suited for imaging young, restless children. Clinicians and dental specialists can use 3dMD’s imaging technique on a routine basis as there is no radiation or other side effects usually associated with invasive imaging techniques. Images of pre- and post-treatment surface conditions can be monitored in a variety of patient postures and expressions throughout the treatment cycle.
3dMD Treatment & Simulation Software
With 12 years of 3D product development expertise, 3dMD has taken a fresh approach to building its 3dMDvultus software to provide healthcare professionals with an efficient, easy-to-use, rich 3D patient treatment platform built on an industrial-strength communication platform. 3dMDvultus fuses the 3dMD surface with the CT/CBCT image (and digital dental study models) to enable a patient treatment platform where it is easy to assess, plan, monitor, evaluate, and simulate possible patient treatments and surgery.
To address the decision support requirements of the demanding dental and medical communities, 3dMD has implemented a business formula that combines 3dMD’s world leading software development skills with the pre-eminent specialty knowledge of domain experts who have joined 3dMD’s advisory team.
3dMDvultus’ powerful soft tissue simulation model is founded on the vision and career work of Stephen Schendel, MD, DDS, Professor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Stanford University Medical Center.
To address the functionality and requirements associated with software workflow and efficiency from a busy practice standpoint, 3dMD works closely with David Hatcher, DDS, MSc, an internationally recognized expert in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and TM disorders.
To address sleep disorder analysis and simulation of possible outcomes, 3dMD works closely with internationally-renowned pioneers in the surgical treatment of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome Nelson B Powell, MD, DDS and Robert W Riley, MD, MS, DDS.
